About

Hazéls is a new concept music-led wine bar & restaurant located at 5 Verulam Road in St Albans. The space captures elegance and warmth created by local craftsmen and features an oak bar, high top tables, a custom-built vinyl library & a vintage sound system installed by Audio Gold.

The concept was inspired by old Japanese Jazz Kissas, also known as listening bars. For this reason, you'll find the music at Hazéls is louder than background, designed to create a comforting, laid back audio exploration for music lovers to enjoy.

Chef Drew Knight’s menu is designed for sharing and inspired by classical French cookery. Using seasonal produce and selective suppliers allows for daily changes to the menu.

The hand-picked wine list champions natural, low intervention wines, available by the glass or bottle and our craft beer list is curated by The Beer Shop, St Albans. There’s also a short cocktail list for aperitivos or post-dinner drinks.

Private hire for up to 30 guests is available on Mondays and Tuesdays, or by request. To discuss your event, contact us on info@hazels-stalbans.co.uk

Please note that Hazéls is not a suitable space for babies or children under 12 years old.

Extended Opening Hours for the Festive Season

Our booking system is now live for December & New Years Day with some extended opening hours:

Lunch on Saturdays: Join us for extended hours as we open for both lunch and dinner service every Saturday between 29th November and the 27th December 2025.

Tuesdays, December 23rd & 30th: We will be open for dinner service from 5pm in addition to our normal opening times.

New Year's Eve: Usher in 2026 with an exquisite, exclusive dinner service and a celebratory countdown to midnight.

New Year's Day: Continue the celebration with a special lunch featuring a menu meticulously crafted by Chef Drew Knight to mark the occasion.

Kindly note that we will be closed on Christmas Day & Boxing Day and for a brief period from January 2nd to January 6th, reopening our doors for the new year on January 7th 2026.
